The deputy mayor of New York City and his wife are having a dinner party to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. As the first guests arrive, they find that the hostess is missing, the butler and cook have disappeared, the dinner hasn't been cooked, and the host seems to have shot himself through the earlobe. What to do? Try to cover-up, of course. But as more guests arrive, the explanations get more complicated and bizarre, and soon nobody can remember who told what to whom. With the police on the way, panic sets in, doors slam, and one-liners fly.
